The Golden State Warriors are 0-1 in the 2022 NBA Finals after giving up a 15-point lead to the Boston Celtics in Game 1. Now, they're playing catch-up, and the Dubs' leaders have the perfect mindset heading into Game 2.

During their media availability Saturday, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson addressed the mistakes made in Game 1, as well as the expectations for Game 2.

A media member asked Curry about how much social media and outside influences impact the team. Curry said that he learned to block out any outside noise through his extensive time in the league.

“It comes with experience of knowing narratives change really quickly…Never really gets to me as much.”

 

Instead, Curry said that he is focused on the expectations and standards that he has in place for himself.

“At the end of the day it is just about winning the basketball game so if we go out there and do that on Sunday, I'm sure whatever the noise is will be a little more favorable for us,” Curry added. “But, right now, we allowed Game 1 to get away from us and we gotta respond.”

Thompson had a similar message, claiming that everyone “got comfortable” when the Warriors earned a 15-point lead in the third quarter.

“I thought we got comfortable when we went up 15, including myself, our team, the fans. We've done it so many times we probably expected we were just going to win.”

However, he's looking at the bright side of the situation and expects the team to use Game 1 as a learning experience.

“It was a harsh reminder, but it's something we all needed to go through, including myself. It's about how we respond tomorrow, which I am very excited for.”
