Golden State Warriors superstar point guard Stephen Curry scored 17 points in the first quarter of Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday.

Remarkably, Curry's production is tied for the most points in a first quarter of an NBA Finals game by any player in the last 20 seasons, per ESPN Stats & Info.

The Warriors are playing without small forward Kevin Durant and shooting guard Klay Thompson, so it's going to be the Stephen Curry show in Game 3. The two-time MVP might have to score 50 points for the Dubs to win Game 3.

Without Durant and Thompson, the Dubs just don't have enough scoring outside of Curry.

This is a great opportunity for Curry to have his first Finals MVP moment. Curry has never won a Finals MVP despite having three championships on his résumé. If Curry can lead the Warriors to the championship while Durant and Thompson are sidelined, the sharpshooter will be the unanimous winner of the elusive award.

Let's hope Curry's body holds up in Game 3. His usage rate and workload is going to be the highest it has ever been in the NBA. It goes without saying the Warriors can't afford to lose Curry to an injury as well.
