Stephen Curry discussed the impending addition of center Andrew Bogut, who is still ironing out his departure from the Sydney Kings of the Australian Basketball League before making his return to the Golden State Warriors official.

“It's exciting, weird… a blast from the past and all of that,” said Curry when asked of the prospect of playing next to Andrew Bogut once again. “Obviously I know there's a couple more steps before it's official, but he's a guy we have had a lot of experience with. He knows our system, he knows how we do things around here. He was instrumental in that turnaround, in becoming that championship team… I know he'll be able to help us.”

Curry wasn't expecting Bogut to make a return to the NBA, let alone to the same team that fit him with a championship ring in 2015.

“For sure,” said Curry. “I thought once he went to Australia, that would be the last time we saw him in NBA circles. So when the name came up, I thought it was kind of one-sided because we're familiar with him, we like him, let's call him to see if he's interested. I didn't get the mutual vibe — and now it's about to happen, so it's pretty cool.”

It isn't rare for NBA players to land at their old stomping grounds again, but for Bogut to bounce into three different teams and then return to the place that traded him after being part of a historic 73-win season — now that is strange in itself.

For those who witnessed the flip of the page under head coach Steve Kerr, one that saw the Warriors transform from playoff hopefuls to a perennial championship team, images like this would bring memories of the screens Bogut would set with his 7-foot frame, ones that Curry used to connect in an all-time record 402 3-pointers in 2015-16 — his last MVP season.

It won't take long for these two to reunite and make these memories part of their reality once again, as the Warriors trot out the last 19 games of the regular season with their eyes on what's ahead.
