The Golden State Warriors have looked every bit the part of a championship contender early on in the season. They've started out 5-1 and are tied for the best record in the Western Conference.
Stephen Curry is right in the middle of it all. But with Klay Thompson still progressing on a return from injury and Draymond Green focused on playmaking instead of scoring, he's going to need more dynamic talent around him if they want to get back to the NBA Finals.
Perhaps one of the Warriors young guns can step in to take on that mantle. James Wiseman and Jonathan Kuminga are both tantalizing physical specimens that have star potential, but don't sleep on Moses Moody. The 6-foot-6 wing has shown flashes in the preseason and could very well emerge as the best of the pack when it's all said and done.
Article Continues BelowThe Warriors rookie spoke out on how he was adjusting to the NBA so far. Beyond just claiming it wasn't as tough of a transition as he initially thought, he was vocal on his lofty aspirations.
“Honestly I would say it's not as different as I anticipated it to be,” claimed the Warriors rookie. “Whenever you get something that you want, you finally get it, you want something else. All I ever wanted was to make it to the NBA. Now I'm here. Now I want to be an All-Star, now I want to be a Hall of Famer. … If you give a pig a pancake, then he'll want some syrup.”
While it's obviously easier said than done, if Moses Moody can approach anywhere near All-Star level, Golden State would be in terrific shape. Stephen Curry and the current iteration of the Warriors only have so few years left on their quest for another title. They'll need all the help they can get.
