Stephen Curry is used to making deep runs in the playoffs with the Golden State Warriors, so the team's recent success had the superstar tweaking his preparation in the offseason. He's still working just as hard as he always has, but he believes he's working smarter now.

Regarding his offseason preparation, Curry told SiriusXM NBA Radio:

“I think for us, well for me individually speaking, knowing how my body reacts playing into the beginning of June and then having to kind of recalibrate and rejuvenate in two and a half months to get ready to go again for another nine-month journey. My workouts are intense, physically and mentally in terms of preparation, but I like what you said, definitely working smarter in terms of, I'm not on the court for six hours like I used to be, but I still think I'm getting enough out of what I'm doing to keep getting better and laying the foundation for how I'm gonna get through an 82-game schedule at a high level and be ready, at my best, for the playoffs.”

Outside of LeBron James, Curry has as much experience as anyone in the league with the quick turnaround after a trip to the NBA Finals. The Warriors have done it four straight years and all those extra games can take a toll on a team year after year. That seems to be the impetus for Curry's “work smarter, not harder” offseason strategy.

He knows exactly what he needs to do to be ready for the regular season and the playoffs.
