D'Angelo Russell worked out a lot with Stephen Curry during the off-season and has been a sponge whenever he's around the two-time MVP. The newest star of the Golden State Warriors admitted, per Mark Medina of USA Today, that he tries to balance when to join the greatest shooter of all time during his shooting workouts.
“When I get the opportunity to work with (Curry), I try to do that without messing up his routine and his rhythm,” Russell said. “Whenever he allows me to jump in, I’m right there. On other days, when he wants to be by himself, I’m with Theo. It’s kind of a mixed balance.”
In his short time with the up-and-coming guard, Curry praised D'Lo for “always asking the right questions” and for keeping the fire under his belly despite getting his massive payday this past summer.
“He’s always asking the right questions. He’s eager to learn and grow,” Curry said. “It’s nice to see a guy get paid in the summer and is still hungry to get better.”
Russell has always expressed his eagerness and excitement to learn from an all-time shooter like Curry ever since he got to the Bay Area. So far, it appears like the one-time All-Star is pushing all the right buttons.

Curry and Russell have been working hard to establish their chemistry heading into the 2019-20 season and they showed that in their preseason finale against the Los Angeles Lakers last night.
Russell played arguably his best game of the preseason and scored 29 points on 9-of-19 shooting to support Curry's game-high 32 points. The 23-year old also knocked down six triples, matching Steph's total threes on the night, in their 124-103 win.
Warriors fans hope that these performances from their backcourt tandem become the norm for the 2019-20 season.
