Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry is an avid golfer, and he called upon one of the sport's greatest stars for motivation during the 2015 NBA Playoffs.

Curry was a guest on the Huddle and Flow podcast with NFL reporter Jim Trotter, saying Woods would be the one guy he would love to play a round with.

The two-time MVP also revealed Woods called him “out of the blue” during the team's second-round series against the Memphis Grizzlies. Curry said the 15-time major champion “spoke some life” into the team's comeback after the Warriors faced a 2-1 deficit.

Steph said he posited confidence in the team's ability to come back, but also remembers Woods aptly responding “Prove it” before hanging up:

Curry helped jump-start the Warriors' comeback with a scintillating performance in Memphis in Game 4. He poured in 33 points to go along with eight rebounds, five assists and two steals, helping the Dubs send the series back to Golden State tied at two games apiece.

The Warriors never looked back. Golden State won each of the next two games to advance to the Western Conference Finals, with Curry scoring 32 points and adding 10 assists and six rebounds in the clincher. The Baby-Faced Assassin then dominated the Houston Rockets, setting up the first of four consecutive NBA Finals showdowns with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Curry was on point when the Warriors needed him most, scoring 37 points in a pivotal Game 5 before the Dubs wrapped things up in Cleveland in Game 6. Golden State had its first championship, in part due to a motivational speech Curry received from a ferociously competitive Woods all the way back in Round 2.

Perhaps one day Curry will get to play that round of golf with Tiger. It would certainly be fun to watch.
