Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors have been the best team in the NBA so far this season. With Klay Thompson's return just around the corner, they're about to get even more lethal.
But just because he's nearing full clearance to return, doesn't mean that Klay Thompson isn't still going through hell, both mentally and physically, to get himself ready. According to Steph Curry, it's arguably the “hardest part” of his entire journey.
Via Marcus Thompson of The Athletic:
“I think going into this particular season,” Curry said, “and him getting closer than he’s every been to getting back on the floor, I kind of predicted this would be the hardest part on his journey. Because he’s got the basketball back in his hands every day, he’s feeling like himself, he’s playing pickup, he’s around our practices, he’s back with us in those type of situations. but he’s still not on the court. The good thing is we’re talking weeks instead of months now.”

When the finish line is in sight, especially for something that's spanned this long, everything just gets more real. That's why emotions were running high for Klay Thompson after the Warriors' latest win, where he sat on the sidelines just soaking everything in.

It's only a matter of time now for Klay Thompson. It hasn't been easy, and still isn't up to now. But Warriors fans are ready to cheer when he finally reaches the finish line.
