Kevin Durant was swarmed by the local media after the Golden State Warriors stamped a 141-102 win over the San Antonio Spurs, as they looked to find a reason for his mysterious absence for the past nine days. Durant exploded with a three-minute rant and left, leaving head coach Steve Kerr with a lot of explaining to do:
“We all have things that go on in our life, where sometimes you just want to curl up,” Kerr said, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic. “Most of us are allowed to do that. But not in the NBA. Kevin has been unbelievable with the media since he’s been here. He’s always accountable and here. He just doesn’t feel like talking right now.”
Durant's silence coincidentally started after the New York Knicks traded their franchise player Kristaps Porzingis, allegedly to make room for Durant in the summer.

Kerr dismissed this being a distraction, but rather urged reporters to back off and give him time to come around:
“We’re functioning as a team, we’re doing our thing, we’re playing, he’s coming in and competing and working at practice,” said Kerr. “It’s just… give him some space. He’ll be back, I’m sure, talking with you guys. But right now it’s not a great time for you to get any quotes from him, that’s for sure.”
Durant has been known to be an introvert, and this could be just a phase that is keeping him from facing the media. All in all, he isn't saying the right things, or many things as it is.
