The Golden State Warriors suffered a good old fashioned beating on Thursday. The Warriors lost to the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks, 118-99. The Dubs were down 39 points at one point, and nothing positive transpired on the court. Well, almost nothing.
After the game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said he thinks Jonathan Kuminga could look at Giannis Antetokounmpo in this game and learn a few things.
“When you look at where Giannis is now, and you think about him as a rookie, you got to think about JK (Jonathan Kuminga). … Not much understanding of the NBA, not much understanding of what's going on yet. But that's exactly where Giannis was a decade ago,” Kerr told ClutchPoints.

The Greek Freak went from riding the bench to becoming a two-time MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and NBA champion. During his rookie year, nobody knew he would turn out to be what he is today. But he put in the work and improved every season, and now is one of the best players in the NBA.
The No. 7 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Kuminga has the potential to be amazing. Even the Warriors rookie doesn't end up as good as Antetokounmpo, he should be able to look at his situation to help navigate through this time in his career. His peers are playing big minutes and getting a ton of recognition, all while he's in the shadows of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and other veteran teammates.

Kuminga is averaging 5.3 points while playing 10 minutes per game. The Warriors youngster is ready whenever Kerr calls on him and could find himself in the everyday lineup if he keeps it up. As long as Kuminga sticks to the plan, his time will come sooner than later.
