Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr remains unbothered by Draymond Green's subpar statistical averages in the 2020-21 season. Despite getting significant minutes for the Dubs, the three-time All-Star forward is only putting up career-lows of 4.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.2 steals entering Saturday's game against the Detroit Pistons.

Kerr, however, continues to preach Green's importance for the Warriors, which oftentimes do not appear on the stat sheet.

“He's engaged and he's competing and he's helping the young guys, and that's what I'm looking for,” Steve Kerr said of the former DPOY winner, per East Bay Times' Wes Goldberg.

While Draymond Green was never really considered much of a scorer, his shooting woes are an alarming cause for concern for the Warriors. The former Michigan State standout is only making 34.6 percent of his field goals and just 22.6 percent of his 3-point attempts. The 6-foot-6 forward has also only reached double figures once in Golden State's last 10 games.

Moreover, his rebounding and assists numbers have taken a slight dip. Even TNT analyst Charles Barkley has been vocal with his criticism of Green's decline since last season and has lambasted him for averaging a “triple-single”.

Since the Warriors aren't exactly the same formidable unit they once were, Green has taken in a different role for the team. He has been lauded for his mentorship role of Dubs promising rookie James Wiseman.

As long as Dray continues to be a leader for the Warriors and the heart and soul of the team, Steve Kerr doesn't mind the low output.
