The Golden State Warriors unleashed Kevin Durant in full monster mode after losing Game 2 to the LA Clippers earlier in their playoff run. However, Durant has done more than dominate with his scoring, according to head coach Steve Kerr.

Besides posting a team-best 38.3 points per game since the infamous “I'm Kevin Durant” pregame speech, the scoring assassin has also been putting up the effort defensively, which Kerr commended on the eve of Game 3 against the Houston Rockets:

“I see it in his anticipation defensively,” said Kerr of Durant's all-around dominance. “First play of the game, he's at the rim, forcing [Clint] Capela into a travel. That's an indicator. When Kevin is dialed-in defensively, that's when we're at our best, and that's what he's been in the first couple games of the series.”

Durant had two blocks and one steal in Tuesday's Game 2, setting the tone for the game, as the Warriors started with a 6-0 run, courtesy of Andre Iguodala.

His play at the defensive end wouldn't let up, as he took on all comers, including former teammate James Harden. The play that invigorated his team and fueled his offensive approach:

The Warriors have played with far more intensity than they did to start their last series against the Clippers, and Durant has been a massive part of that collective work ethic.

Draymond Green has also shined during this series, making the most of his transition opportunities and becoming a capable scorer.
