Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr lavishly praised the NBA after the league was able to pull off the Walt Disney bubble in Orlando during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Not only did the NBA crown a champion, but there were zero positive COVID-19 tests at Walt Disney World and the players used their platform to speak out about police brutality against people of color and voter suppression.
Kerr, a three-time champion with the Warriors, loves everything the NBA stands for.
“When the pandemic began it was hard to imagine the NBA pulling off what it just did- creating a bubble that kept players, coaches and personnel Covid free, allowing the season to conclude with a captivating playoff run & providing us all with great entertainment,” the Warriors coach wrote on Twitter.
“Thank you to Adam Silver & the NBA, to all the players, coaches, officials, announcers, TV production teams, Disney employees and to EVERYONE who sacrificed so much to make this work. I'm proud to be part of this league.”
Since the Warriors had the worst record in the NBA before games were suspended in March due to COVID-19, Steve Kerr and Co. weren't invited to the Walt Disney games.
However, Kerr watched the games just like all basketball fans did and he was so impressed with how the NBA pulled everything off.
Whenever the 2020-21 season starts, Kerr and the Warriors will likely be back to being contenders again. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins will be leading the team as a foursome and the Dubs also have the second overall pick in the 2020 draft.
