SAN FRANCISCO — The NBA regular season ends for the Golden State Warriors on April 10. That's one day before the next time the team will give an update on Stephen Curry’s injured foot.

This means the two-time MVP is done for the rest of the 2021-22 season. Friday afternoon, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr addressed the media right after the Curry injury update.

“We've kind of knew that was going to be the case,” Kerr said. “We were hoping maybe he could play one game, two games at the end of the regular season, but that was kind of a long shot.”

Curry has missed the Warriors' last seven games, and things have not been pretty. The team has won only one game since he was injured against the Boston Celtics.

The plan is for Curry to return at the start of the playoffs, and he is expected to start individual on-court workouts next week. His return to practice will be based on how well he progresses during his one-on-one training.

This has been an up-and-down season for the Bay Area superstar. His numbers are still excellent, but his efficiency is down.

Curry finishes his season with averages of 25.5 points, 6.3 assists, and 5.2 rebounds per game. He shot 43.7 percent from the field and 38.0 percent from deep, which is the lowest 3-point percentage since the 2019-20 season when he only played five games.

Now that it's official that Curry is out for the season, it's up to the rest of the guys to finish strong. That task resumes for the Warriors on Saturday against the Utah Jazz.
