The Golden State Warriors moved one step closer to their elusive three-peat on Thursday night as they defeated the Los Angeles Clippers, 132-105, and in the process taking a 2-1 lead on their first-round playoffs matchup.

The Warriors continue to make strides in their quest to establish one of the most dominant dynasties in the history of the sport. In the post-game press conference of his team's Game 3 victory, Dubs head coach Steve Kerr was asked to share his thoughts on his team's dynasty, and the 63-year-old had to reach all the way back to his childhood to set up the premise of his response.

“You know I grew up right here in Los Angeles and when I was 10 years old I watched UCLA beat Kentucky for the National Championship. It was their 10th National Title in 12 years. And as a 10-year-old UCLA fan, I thought it's just gonna happen forever. They're gonna go on forever. Then [former UCLA head coach John] Wooden retired after the game and I think they've won one National Title since. [Warriors president for basketball operations Bob] Myers led the way in '95.”

Kerr went on to explain that despite the popular belief that the Warriors are going to be such a dominant force in the years to come, he personally chooses to just stay in the now, focusing on what's in front of him instead of thinking too far ahead.

“The reason why people are so attracted to sports is that none of us know what's going to happen. You do your best to build a good team and a solid team. You hope to get some luck along the way. I think we've done that and we've experienced the luck and the bad luck. It's all part of it. So you don't worry about expectations. You just go out there and play and do your best and see if you can sustain it for a long time. But everything comes to an end and we're just trying to keep this going.”

This is pretty much the perfect response from Kerr. He neither brushes off nor does he speak too fondly of the Warriors' current dynasty, while clearly establishing the fact that at the moment, their focus remains on what they need to do to go all the way this season.
