Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is a well-beloved and respected figure not just in the Bay Area but in the entire NBA.
However, many people might have qualms and doubts on Kerr's personal taste outside of basketball following his latest publicity stunt.
ESPN's Michael C. Wright shared a tweet earlier today of the 53-year-old rocking a Metallica t-shirt during a media scrum.

Jeff McDonald of The San Antonio Express-News stated that this was Kerr's clever way of promoting the recent announcement that Metallica would be the first act to perform during the opening of Chase Center in San Francisco.
The Chase Center will become the new home of the Warriors come the 2019-20 season, and Kerr is showing his full support for the heavy metal band out of San Fran.
Based on his demeanor and appearance, Steve Kerr is probably one of the last names we'd see on the list of closet Metallica fans. Although, a compelling case could be made that this is indeed a possibility considering that every band member is within the same age bracket as Kerr — if not older.
Regardless of the former Coach of the Year's actual take on one of the most celebrated rock acts in music history, his endorsement does indeed carry a lot of weight in the basketball world. The parallels between a historic rock band and a historic NBA franchise led by Kerr cannot be denied, either.
One thing's for certain: Kerr has become a master of (media) puppets after his latest crack at cross-promotion.
