Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr says his team will never be doubted even with superstar small forward Kevin Durant out of the lineup with his right calf injury.

Kerr says the Warriors don't have anything to prove and that playing with freedom makes it easier for the team to compete without Durant, who is arguably the best player in the NBA:

Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala will all have to their game to another level with Durant out. That shouldn't be an issue, though. After all, these four players were part of the 2014 championship team before Durant came to the Warriors.

Curry and Thompson appeared to find their shots late in the fourth quarter of Game 5. That will need to continue in Game 6 if the Warriors want to win in Houston. Curry was more aggressive after Durant went out.

The two-time MVP is still dealing with pain in his injured left finger, but Curry won't use that as an excuse for his poor shooting in this series.

Kerr and the Warriors know the Rockets are going to come out and try to punch them in the mouth at the beginning of Game 6.

If Golden State can weather that early storm, they should be good.
