James Wiseman is expected to be a key contributor for the Golden State Warriors in his rookie season and he appears to be leaving an impression on Bob Myers. Ahead of the regular season, Myers revealed a story that exemplifies Wiseman's work ethic.
Myers went on SiriusXM NBA Radio to speak about a time that he called the Warriors rookie to see what he was doing at the time.
“I called him [Wiseman] last week, and I said, ‘What are you doing?' He said, ‘I'm watching Tim Duncan tape.' And I'm thinking yeah right (laughter). I said, ‘What year?' He said, ‘1999.'
“I said, ‘What are you watching?' He said, ‘I just want to see how he learned the game, and try to mimic some of the stuff he did.' And then I kind of said, ‘Well, what are you doing when you're not watching tape?'
Coming out of Memphis, where he only played three games, Wiseman was considered the best big man in the 2020 NBA Draft. The Tennessee native is an athletic 7-foot-1 center that figures to contribute to the Warriors in a variety of ways.

Despite losing Klay Thompson for a second consecutive season, Golden State still features a talented roster. Besides Wiseman, the Warriors field a roster with Stephen Curry, Kelly Oubre Jr., Draymond Green, and Andrew Wiggins.
The expectations for Wiseman this season are going to be dependent on how many minutes he is given. Regardless of what his role looks like to begin the season, it's apparent that Wiseman is going to put the necessary work in to become the best player he possibly can with the Warriors.
