Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson is not playing against the Minnesota Timberwolves. It's the second consecutive game he's missed due to being under the weather. Many thought that Jordan Poole would be getting the starts, but coach Steve Kerr has decided to go another direction and start rookie Moses Moody instead.

“In a lot of the games that Jordan has started, we've had Otto (Porter Jr.) without a minutes restriction, if Otto was in the starting lineup that would change things from a rebounding perspective,” Kerr told ClutchPoints. “So it's really more of a domino effect. I also don't mind at all. Jordan staying in that sixth-man role because that's where he's going to be doing a full strength.”

Before Thompson returned to the Warriors in January, Poole was the starter for that entire duration. He played extremely well in the star's absence and averaged just below 20 points per game. Since Thompson has been back, he's started every game he's played in and Poole has been trying to settle back into his old role.

Although Moody got the start, he didn't play long against the Timberwolves. He left the game with a left eye contusion after being hit with an accidental elbow from Karl-Anthony Towns. The rookie was off to a good start. He scored six points in seven minutes before leaving the game.

The Warriors entered the game with a 43-18 record, looking to earn their 44th victory against a tough Minnesota team.
