As two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference square off on opening night, it's not surprising that a lot of fans, and even players from other teams are tuned in to the game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics. It also adds to the hype that Kyrie Irving will debut for the C's against his old team, and teams up with Gordon Hayward as well in their first regular season game.
However, less than six minutes into the game, the All-Star forward suffered a freak injury with what appears to be a severely fractured foot. He was seen grimacing in pain, and had to be stretchered off the floor. Players like LeBron James and Dwyane immediately approached him to give encouraging words, as they understood the situation and how it will affect Hayward's season.
Players around the league quickly took to their Twitter accounts to show their support for the 27-year-old Butler product. They offered prayers for his quick recovery, and made it known that they do not want to see anybody get hurt.
Man, nothing but prayers to Gordon Hayward!

The injury has officially been diagnosed as a left ankle fracture, but with the looks of it, and how he appeared to be in a lot of pain, it's not promising at all for the Boston faithful. It's not a bad idea at this point to keep their fingers crossed and hope for the best possible scenario for Hayward, and that he can return this season to contribute to the team's cause.
