The Atlanta Hawks didn’t just lose to the Brooklyn Nets 116-104 on Sunday. They also might have lost the services of Dennis Schroder for maybe a few games.

Schroder injured his left foot late in the Nets game while driving baseline to the basket. The 24-year-old guard stepped on the foot of Brooklyn’s Caris Levert before sprawling to the floor and grimacing in pain.

Schroder was then helped by the Haws’ staff to the locker room and never returned to the contests. Before his exit, Schroder had scored 17 points to go with eight assists, and four rebounds.

While there are no official reports about the extent of Schroder's injury and his availability status for the next game, it’s encouraging to learn for Hawks fans that Schroder was able to test his ankle under his own power in the locker room according to Adam Zagoria.

Malcolm Delaney and Isaiah Taylor will be sharing minutes running the point for Atlanta should Schroder’s injury demands some time to heal.

The 1-2 Hawks will fly to South Beach Monday for a showdown with the Miami Heat.
