The entire NBA world is stunned by Bam Adebayo's historic scoring night on Tuesday in the Miami Heat's 150-129 win over the Washington Wizards. Adebayo, who entered the night averaging a little less than 19 points per game, made it his goal to destroy the Wizards defense. Buoyed by a 31-point first quarter, the Heat star finished with 83 points on the night — becoming the proud owner of the second-highest single game scoring tally in NBA history, surpassing Kobe Bryant's 81 points.

Adebayo was brilliant from the get-go, and the Wizards defense stood no chance. And by etching his name into the record books, he caught the attention of everybody — including Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, who reacted to Adebayo's epic scoring night with a post on his official X account.

“BAM BAM BAM 💥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥,” James wrote.

This is the kind of scoring performance that leaves one speechless, and for James, he can only celebrate Adebayo's historic effort by using the onomatopoeia of the Heat star's nickname. And at this point, words cannot even capture just how unlikely this game was.

Adebayo can score the rock, and he's expanded his game so much to the point where he's a comfortable scorer from all three levels. But nobody could have expected him to be the man to surpass Bryant and be the second name that comes up in the topic of highest scoring games in NBA history.

The Heat star's previous career high in a single game was 41 points — in one game, he doubled that number and then some. He's averaging 16 points per game for his career. The Wizards were triple-teaming him from the backcourt. But none of it mattered, as Adebayo simply had a laser with him and was automatic for stretches.

Congrats to the Heat star for this bonkers feat.
