The Houston Rockets are currently the hottest team in the NBA and have won nine of their last 10 games including a seven-game winning streak.
A lot of credit is given to their All-Star guard James Harden for the success they are enjoying but another player that has stepped up a lot this season is his partner in the backcourt, Patrick Beverley.
The 28-year-old Arkansas product is playing well so far with averages of 7.9 points and career-highs in rebounding with 5.4 and in assists with 4.5 per game.
When asked what helped him rebound the ball better, Beverley talked about the weight loss he had during the offseason which has allowed him to jump higher and feel better especially on back-to-back sets.

With Harden taking much of the scoring load for the team, it makes Beverley's rebounding and passing more valuable to the Rockets. However, what's more important for the team is he made an effort to contribute and become a better player.
The Rockets are winning at a very high rate and have also beaten other contenders in the West like the Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs. If they want to make a deep run in the playoffs and contend for a title, they will be relying a lot on Beverley and his improved rebounding skills, and as he has shown so far, he is more than willing to oblige.
