The Indiana Pacers on Friday night finally agreed to a deal that sent All-Star forward Paul George to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Prior to that, the Cleveland Cavaliers were reported for the last several days to be in heavy pursuit of George in hopes of improving their title odds for next season against the Golden State Warriors. This proposed deal likely included All-Star forward Kevin Love heading to the Denver Nuggets as the team has reportedly had some significant interest in acquiring him since the start of free agency. There was the talk of these teams being involved in a three-team trade early last week, but it appears that the Pacers were unwilling to pull the trigger on a deal.

The Cavaliers did what they could to orchestrate a trade for George but things just couldn't be agreed upon. It has now left them looking for other ways to improve the team with the possibility of signing Carmelo Anthony if he's bought out by the New York Knicks.

Ultimately, this was just another scenario that the Pacers passed on before choosing to send George to the Thunder in a shocking trade.
