The Utah Jazz have turned a lot of heads lately by having a hot streak going — winning 15 of their last 17  outings. While the impressive play of rookie Donovan Mitchell has been a big reason for it, their defense is the unsung hero that has allowed them to string a lot of wins together, thanks to Rudy Gobert.

A graphic has recently surfaced, where it clearly shows that the Salt Lake City team’s defensive rating has drastically improved after Gobert returned from injury.

They have been better than the league’s average of 110.6 and allowed fewer points and lower shooting percentages to their opponents with the Stifle Tower manning the paint for them.

It can be recalled that the 25-year-old French international missed 15 games earlier this season due to a PCL strain and bone bruise. He successfully recovered from it without suffering any setbacks and has since been playing at a very high level.

Gobert is known for being a force on the defensive end but has also shown that he can score more points, with his averages of 13.3 points to go along with 10.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 2.3 blocks in 31.7 minutes per game.

Gobert has already made it known that he is certain that the Jazz will make the playoffs this season. They are currently in 10th place in the Western Conference but are now only one game behind the Denver Nuggets for the last postseason berth. If they can continue their winning ways, not only will Gobert look like a genius, but they can also build on their impressive defensive effort and be a tough team to beat in the playoffs.
