After LeBron James made his intentions known about moving to the Western Conference for the first time with a four-year deal with Los Angeles Lakers, the internet quickly made the hilarious connection.
LeBron and former Cleveland Cavaliers teammate Isaiah Thomas have been reunited, but it appears not for long.
Less than a day after James' announcement, in which the Lakers struck a flurry of deals to surround the best player in the game with the right pieces, they seemingly waved goodbye to the diminutive point guard. The team renounced the rights to Thomas on Monday, according to Kevin Smith of RealGM.

It's not entirely clear how the relationship between Thomas and James was in that short time in Cleveland, but the NBA trade deadline swap for the Lakers' Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr., and LeBron's subsequent nonchalance to Thomas's exit, probably meant that the pair didn't see eye-to-eye.
It's not hard to blame the Cavs either considering that the 29-year-old was the centerpiece of the trade that honored star Kyrie Irving's wishes, and he was out for most of the season due to an injury and generally underperformed upon his return.
In 27 minutes per game, the 5-foot-9 guard posted averages of 14.7 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 4.5 assists while shooting of 36 percent and 25 percent from behind the arc in his 15 games with the Cavs. These numbers were easily his worst since his sophomore campaign with the Sacramento Kings almost six years ago.
That said, there would be no shortage of suitors who could use his instant offense off the bench at the expense of defense and perhaps efficiency, assuming Thomas is healthy.
