Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball isn’t having the rosiest of rookie seasons. While he’s a threat to drop a triple-double on any given day, the highlight remains on his growing bust-potential, brought about mostly by his struggles to shoot the ball.
Ball’s trouble in knocking down shots in the pros has been very much talked about almost everywhere. Explanations for his inability to find a consistent touch include his quirky shooting mechanics and his caving to the pressure put on his shoulders by his dad’s bluster. Whatever it is, Ball wants us to know that his basketball malaise is not because he goes home to a Kardashian – or a Jenner. In fact, he’s been abundantly forewarned.
In an appearance on ESPN’s Mason and Ireland, Ball said that he’s heard of the infamous “Kardashian Curse” and that his girlfriend isn’t part of the Kardashian lineage.
Ball reminded Steve Mason and John Ireland that he’s been with his girlfriend, Denise Garcia, since high school. When the idea of not dating a Kardashian was broached, Lonzo admitted, “I have heard that a lot.”
Of course, Lonzo Ball is aware of the K-curse. After all, his Lakers teammate Jordan Clarkson was once in a relationship with Kendall Jenner.
Being a famous athlete is like an irresistible bait for anyone in the Kardashian clan, It has been blamed for the misfortune of several athletes who’ve had a relationship with a Kardashian/Jenner with perhaps former Lakers forward Lamar Odom serving as the curse’s poster child.
