After a disputed exchange prior to Wednesday's game between the Washington Wizards and the Los Angeles Lakers, All-Star point guard John Wall had some words of praise for his counterpart Lonzo Ball, who managed to grab the win in an overtime affair.

“He's a quiet kid who doesn't say too much,” said Wall, according to Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN. “He's been dealing with it [his father's outspoken comments] his whole life. It doesn't bother him. It's just new to everybody else. He's very mature for his age. He can pass, can score the ball —he just wasn't making shots tonight. We both wanted to play better.”

Ball had another poor shooting performance, scoring a mere six points and connecting on only 2-of-11 shots from the field, but making it up with his floor game — eight rebounds, 10 assists, a steal, and a block in 40 minutes of play.

While the rookie point man didn't have the best of nights shooting the ball, his plus-13 plus/minus rating was the best in the game, trumping that of Wall, who finished with 18 points on 7-of-22 shooting, along with nine assists and three rebounds — finishing with a game-worst minus-14 rating.

The Ballfather, LaVar Ball felt vindicated after he spoke his prediction into existence.

“I told you so. I've seen this story before,” Ball told ESPN's Jeff Goodman after the game.

The Lakers (2-2) managed a 102-99 win in the last seconds of overtime, giving the Wizards (3-1) their first loss of the season.
