Since becoming an All-Star and getting a lot of attention in his NBA career, Isaiah Thomas has always been vocal about his admiration for the game of Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.

Thomas has said multiple times that he grew up being a fan of The Black Mamba — his favorite player. That said, he has sported some of his signature shoes in the past seasons, including on Saturday night during their game against the Sacramento Kings.

During the 7:55 mark of the fourth quarter and the score tied at 94, the 5-foot-9 point guard surprisingly asked head coach Luke Walton to substitute him out and went straight to his seat on the bench. Thomas then removed his left shoe and showed his teammates that the sole was almost halfway separated from its top part.

The commentators hilariously called it a “flat tire” after seeing what had happened, and Thomas was forced to wear a new pair.

It's certainly not the first time players have experienced some malfunction with their footwear, but it's the first for sole separation for the Kobes, which have been one of the most popular lines from Nike. The good news for Thomas though is that the Lakers came out with the road victory on the night, 113-108. It kicked off their stretch run to a good start and improved their record to 25-34 for the season.

The Lakers are only in 11th place currently in the Western Conference, but with Thomas now part of their fold and bringing a lot of experience to their backcourt, he could make a huge difference to the team as they look to speed up their rebuilding process.
