Los Angeles Lakers rookie point guard Lonzo Ball has had a strong showing through the first several games of the 2017 Las Vegas Summer League.
However, his choice of shoewear on the court has caught just as much attention as he donned both a pair of Kobe A.D. from Nike and James Harden‘s Adidas shoes instead of his ZO2 from his father LaVar Ball‘s company, Big Baller Brand. LaVar has once again come out to stir the pot by stating that his son could sign with one of the other major companies if the price is right, according to Darren Rovell of ESPN.

The fact that LaVar is suggesting that his son could sign with another company does reveal much about where Big Baller Brand currently stands financially. The sales for ZO2 are likely not doing as well as they had originally anticipated when they were put on the market for $495 each.
That said, it could also mean that they are using it as a marketing ploy to drive up the asking price to ink Lonzo to a deal. There were reports that Nike had offered the 19-year-old a five-year, $20 million deal, but his Big Baller Brand affiliation drove them away.
If Ball continues to play at a high level and show much promise, it could be just a matter of time before he works out a major deal with one of the big companies.
