The Los Angeles Clippers have had some unfortunate luck this season due to some of their injuries. They are still one of the better teams in basketball when everybody on their roster is healthy.
The Clippers have two superstars in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George and also have some very good role pieces such as Reggie Jackson, Nicolas Batum, Terrence Mann, and others. They are certainly a team that could win an NBA championship but they're going to have to avoid some major mistakes that they could make on the way there.
Let's take a look at three areas that Clippers must avoid in order to win that NBA championship that every fan in Los Angeles is hoping for and to be cautious for the future.

Clippers Must Avoids 2022
3. Be cautious with Kawhi Leonard
If the Clippers are going to have any success this season, or in the future, they need to take care of Kawhi Leonard. It is still 100% uncertain at the moment if he is going to return but there have been many rumors that he is doing well in his recovery and there is a good chance that he is going to return sooner than many people think.
If they do decide to get him back, they are going to be a team that nobody is going to want to play. Last season they already made a bunch of noise in the playoffs without him for most of it and when they add a top-five player in all of basketball, the rest of the league is going to be in trouble.
What they do need to factor in is that if they do return Kawhi before he is 100% healthy, they are making the wrong decision and that is not going to help them, for now, or in the future.
There is always a chance of getting re-injured if you are not fully recovered and that's something the Clippers need to keep in mind even if they are at a spot where they do believe they can win an NBA championship come playoff time. Keeping Kawhi healthy is certainly more important than taking the risk of potentially winning a championship when you know when he is 100% healthy that he is going to help this team win a championship.
2. Make a move for a third star
In this age of the NBA, it isn't crazy for a team to have three stars. Factor in it that the Clippers also have a very tradable contract in Eric Bledsoe and a few other guys who could get back a decent return, and it would make sense that they go out and get that third star.
Article Continues BelowPerhaps somebody like Jerami Grant or even maybe somebody else that is going to be available at the deadline who could come in and score 20-plus points per night next to Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
If the Clippers do make this move, the NBA is going to be in trouble because if they have three guys who are unstoppable with the ball, they are not going to lose often. They have one of the best defenses in the NBA and that's not going to change if they do add another legit scoring option to their team.
It wouldn't be crazy if the Clippers do decide to just play out with their normal roster because even with what they have at the moment, they are certainly good enough to win an NBA title. They could decide to really go all-in on the situation and try to get that third star since so many players are going to be traded at this deadline.
It would make a lot of sense because when looking at their roster, they have some very questionable contracts, which isn't always a bad thing because every contract in the NBA is always tradable.
1. Finish the job
There's no other way to put it for the Clippers and their fan base other than they need to get the job done when they are in the playoffs.
Last year they did suffer the Kawhi Leonard injury and there is a good chance that they would have won an NBA championship if he was healthy. He is one of the best players in basketball and they even played every team that they played in the playoffs tough without him and made a deep run.
They need to realize that if he is on the court, they are one of the best teams in basketball and certainly have an opportunity to win an NBA title.
If the Clippers do want to finish the job, there are moves that they are going to have to make because they aren't necessarily in a great position at the moment due to some injuries to both of their star players. If they are healthy, they need to finish the job and walk away with an NBA title.
