The Los Angeles Clippers are off to a nice start with a 5-4 record despite the absence of a legitimate star. The strong cast of supporting talent, more specifically talent off the bench, is one reason for the Clippers solid start and Boban Marjanovic believes the second unit is excellent.

“Our second team is really good,” center Boban Marjanovic said to Andrew Grief of the Los Angeles Times. “With Lou later and everybody else, they really are amazing.”

Marjanovic mentions Lou Williams, and for good reason. The reigning Sixth Man of the Year anchors a second unit that is among the best in the NBA. Williams' ability to step up as a legitimate number one option makes it difficult for other teams to counter the Clippers bench.

Furthermore, Marjanovic's unbelievable size and strength pose significant matchup problems for teams. Due to his massive size, Marjanovic is usually limited to between 10-15 minutes per game, but he has a significant impact when he is on the court. Marjanovic is averaging 26.0 points, 16.1 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per 36 minutes.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is another spark off the bench for Doc Rivers' squad. The rookie is fast, athletic, and a gifted defender who brings a gritty element to Los Angeles.

Montrezl Harrell is another valuable asset off the bench as well. He's an absolute bull inside and he's having a remarkably efficient season.

The Clippers second unit is one of the strengths of their roster and the diverse group can hurt teams in a myriad of ways.
