One of the biggest questions after the the L.A. Clippers and Detroit Pistons made a deal centered around Blake Griffin was who won the trade.

It's one of those things NBA folk like to debate. Was the trade best for the Clippers, or the Pistons? And why?

The answer may be difficult to decipher, per Chris Mannix of Yahoo Sports. However, there are those around the league that say it was the Clippers that came out on top after the deal with done, per Mannix.

Ask around the NBA and you get a recurring sentiment: Clippers won, and big. “Great deal for L.A.,” an Eastern Conference GM told Yahoo Sports. “They were never going to win with Blake.” Added a Western Conference personnel scout, “Blake and DeAndre [Jordan] were a good frontcourt — [for] 2005. It’s a new game. And the way Griffin plays, he is hard to build a team around.”

With Griffin's injury history and expensive contract, it would make sense to feel like the Clippers made out the best in the trade. They got off money and they picked  up players that were more durable.

But from Detroit's perspective, the Pistons just got a multi-time All-Star who is still in the prime of his career. Griffin can help the Pistons make a push for the playoffs, and as long as he stays healthy, he will be the man on that team and make a significant impact.

But that health is a big ‘if' when it comes to Griffin. Time will tell who truly won this trade.
