DeAndre Jordan is not just one of the many L.A. Clippers who were shocked by Monday's trade with the Detroit Pistons, shipping Blake Griffin to the Motor City in exchange for Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley, Boban Marajanovic, and a first and second-round picks.

The big dipper has been Griffin's frontcourt mate throughout his entire career and developed not only invaluable chemistry on the court, but a friendship off of it. He reflected on his departure after last night's loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.

“The organization did what they felt was best for our team now and in the future,” Jordan told Ben Golliver of Sports Illustrated. “Blake was a teammate of mine for nine years, his whole time here. We had a lot of great times. He’ll be a friend of mine after basketball. It was definitely tough to see him go. I wish him nothing but the best.”

The Clippers center later spoke about what his plans are moving forward with this new-look roster after having made the adjustment already in a Chris Paul trade that brought seven new players to this team along with consequent moves down the line.

“[I'll have to] come out and compete every night,” said Jordan. “Control the things I can control and worry about winning games and getting better as an individual and as a unit and just play hard every night.”

Jordan has also been rumored to be garnering a lot of eyes within NBA circles, but according to Doc Rivers, it won't be an asset that could be acquired lightly.
