Back in August last year, Patrick Beverley confidently said that the Los Angeles Clippers are the best team in LA.
Seven months later, he doubled down on that statement and reminded everyone that the Clippers own Los Angeles.

This statement by Beverley is coming off the heels of their 128-107 win against the New York Knicks. The Clippers are now the seventh best team in the Western Conference in terms of win-loss record.
Obviously, Patrick Beverley is taking a shot at the other team in Los Angeles, the Lakers, who are currently 10th in the West despite having one of the best players in the league in LeBron James.
It's hard to argue with Beverley here, as the Clippers have had more success than the Lakers in recent years.
Article Continues BelowSince the 2013-14 season, the Clippers have had a better record than the Lakers, despite the latter being the more prominent team in Los Angeles. The Purple and Golds' failure to land marquee free agents are one of the main reasons why they haven't been able to be competitive over the past five years.
Last summer, they signed LeBron to a four-year deal, and everybody thought that this was the season for the Lakers to be contenders once again. However, after a solid first two months, the franchise struggled to win games and even lost to some of the worst teams in the league.
On the other hand, the Clippers have also had their own issues, but they are still the ones who are likely to make the playoffs this year.
Both teams will square off tomorrow, and a loss for the Lakers will mean the final nail to the coffin of their playoffs aspirations.
