The L.A. Clippers were well on their way to a huge win over LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. Patrick Beverley was at center court, taunting the Staples Center crowd as the final seconds ticked off the clock.
Beverley was absolutely fired up. And he always plays like he has something to prove. Following their 113-105 victory, the fiery guard admitted that he played with extra motivation going up against LeBron James and the Purple and Gold.

Apparently, Patrick Beverley never forgets. He never forgives, either. And he entered the game with more juice in his step as he set the tone early for the Clippers defensively.
The All-Defensive guard reportedly wanted to take on the task of guarding James. He certainly took it to the three-time MVP last night, getting into his grill and frustrating him early on with his disruptive defense and annoying tactics.
Article Continues BelowBeverley, who finished with 13 points, nine rebounds, and five steals, helped the Clippers give LeBron James and company their third straight defeat, further deterring them away from post-season contention. The Clippers, on the other hand, got a much-needed victory to help their own chances of making the playoffs.
The Lakers drafted the former Arkansas product with the 42nd pick in the 2009 NBA draft. However, they immediately shipped him to the Miami Heat for a future pick and cash considerations.
After playing in Europe for a year, the Heat signed Beverley to a deal but released him prior to the start of the season. He returned to play in Europe from 2011 to 2013, before returning to the NBA in 2013 with the Houston Rockets.
Beverley has since then made a niche for himself as an intense and scrappy defensive specialist in the NBA.
