After their strong start to the season and even having the best record in the league, the L.A. Clippers have struggled recently and lost three straight games including a double overtime defeat against the lowly Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night.

Asked what he thinks caused them to lose focus and see their win-loss slate fall to 14-5 for the season, DeAndre Jordan said that he thinks their early success has gotten into their heads.

“I think we are smelling ourselves a little bit. We haven't done —-. Nothing. We were number one in the West for a couple of weeks? That don't mean nothing. At all. I feel like we took that for granted. We thought we were a lot better than we really are. We got to continue to get better and have respect for the game.”

One of the factors that made them successful in the early days of the campaign was their defense' which has made it very difficult for their opponents to score against them, However, in their losing streak, they gave up 108 points to the Detroit Pistons and 127 points to the Nets.

The 6-foot-11 big man is hoping that his comments will serve as a wake-up call to his team and get them back to their winning ways. They are still ranked third in the Western Conference but are in the midst of an extended road trip and will face the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday.

With their experienced lineup and having a veteran coach at the helm, it won't be hard to imagine that they will bounce back soon and dominate their opponents once again just like they did when the season started.
