During the 2011-12 season, Kobe Bryant was forced to wear a protective mask for four regular season games after he suffered a nasal fracture during that year's all-star game.

It came as a result of a hard foul from Dwyane Wade which merited him a rare flagrant foul called during an All-Star contest.

Four years after Bryant used it, Goldin Auctions has made the same game-worn mask available to the market, with a starting bid of $15,000. As reported by TMZ, it is expected to sell for more than $50,000. Here's an excerpt from the listing made:

“Rarely does the opportunity arise to acquire such an iconic piece from a legends career. A legend known for being able to play through pain, where one of his most painful moments was in the 2012 All-Star game in Orlando. Despite passing Michael Jordan as the All-Star Game's all-time leading scorer, he suffered a broken nose and concussion courtesy of a hard foul by Dwayne Wade of the Miami Heat.

As a result of Bryant's freak injury during the All-Star game, he was forced to seek protective measures in order to resume his season with the Lakers. It was decided that a protective mask was needed to be made. To do that, a molding of Bryant's face had to be created.”

With fans wanting to own a piece of memorabilia from the future Hall of Famer, it won't be surprising at all if it even exceeds $50,000. Bryant's popularity and the impact he has brought to the game makes this piece a collector's item that is expected to generate a lot of interest from potential buyers.
