The Christmas Day defeat the Los Angeles Lakers suffered definitely raised a lot of eyebrows and questions about the state of the team. With that being said, former Laker Nick Young gave an interesting list of players the Lakers should trade for to help them win a championship now.

The four players he sounded out would provide plenty of material for the rumor mill, but it's highly unlikely that the Purple and Gold would be able to get any of them.

The greatest weakness of the Lakers that was made apparent by this Yuletide defeat was the fact that they don't have a third scoring option who can create shots on his own. As the Clippers have plenty of good defenders, they weren't able to do anything once they clamped up their defense.

Beal is definitely the ideal candidate for the position as he's a phenomenal finisher. He's averaging 28 points, five rebounds, and seven assists a night, and he should be a solid third player for the Lakers. However, they don't have a lot of trade assets that could help them get this trade done.

Jrue Holiday is the likeliest trade to happen. He can provide the offensive spark the team needs, averaging 20 points, five rebounds, and seven assists a game. The Pelicans would be more than happy to transact with the Lakers once again, as they're in rebuild mode at the moment.

Will Barton and Gary Harris also provide scoring and a bit of playmaking, but they aren't as good as the other two. The Lakers front office may make a move for one of them if neither of the first two options fall through.
