The Los Angeles Lakers' season-opening struggles continued in their latest loss to the Utah Jazz, as the Jazz blew out the Lakers by a score of 139-116. The Lakers received a strong outing from Anthony Davis with LeBron James forced to miss the action, but Davis came away from the game unhappy at the fact that he is continuing to play center for Los Angeles.
The Lakers don't have many options at center, and have been rolling with Davis at the five to start the season. But Davis has made it clear that he would rather play at power forward than center, and he once again voiced his desire to play at the four rather than the five after the Lakers eighth loss of the season.
Anthony Davis to @mcten on the '19-'20 Lakers D vs. the last few yrs. AD noted his effectiveness as a "roamer" 4 backed by a 5.
Now, AD plays a drop-heavy centerfield in Ham's system. Idk – kinda reminded me of LeBron's "lasers" comment. Maybe a light jab at the roster/scheme? https://t.co/xhrBQdvT0x pic.twitter.com/YE3cq8JX1l

If you are the Lakers, this comment from Davis adds another item to the laundry list of concerns the team has on their radar right now. Davis hasn't been shy in saying that he would rather be playing at the power forward on both sides of the ball, but Los Angeles doesn't really have any other options to play at center over Davis.
That hasn't prevented Davis from complaining about his role, and it looks like the Lakers have another problem to deal with moving forward when it comes to Davis' desire to play at power forward. Whether this is an issue head coach Darvin Ham and the Lakers can actually solve remains to be seen, but it's clear they may have to find a new solution to their center rotation moving forward if they want to keep Anthony Davis happy.
