At his introductory press conference with the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday, Anthony Davis talked about why he waived his $4 million trade kicker and the team's pursuit of Kawhi Leonard.

Davis said to acquire a guy like Leonard, you basically have to do everything you can. By waiving his trade kicker, Davis helped the Lakers free up a third max slot for Leonard. The LakeShow signed DeMarcus Cousins, Danny Green, Quinn Cook, Jared Dudley and Avery Bradley after Leonard joined the Clippers. The Lakers were also able to re-sign Rajon Rondo, JaVale McGee and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

Anthony Davis will make $27,093,019 in 2019-20. The superstar big man, who has only won one playoff series in his NBA career, wants to do whatever it takes to win an NBA championship with the Lakers. $4 million is a lot of money, but it's not like Davis can't make that up in endorsements and on his next contract. Davis' agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, will certainly look out for Davis in the future.

The Lakers have championship aspirations in 2019-20. Davis and LeBron will have to compete with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George for the battle of LA, too. 2019-20 is going to be a fun season.
