Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis might have had award-winning director M. Night Shyamalan “seeing dead people” as Davis hurtled towards the sideline on Saturday night.
Shayamalan tweeted out a picture indicating Davis gave him a black eye during the Lakers' loss to the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center:
Got a black eye when Anthony Davis of the Lakers ran into me and my wife at the @sixers game. No apology from him. Don’t want one. I’ll take a black eye for every win we get! Go Philly! Can’t wait for next game I attend. #sixersfans pic.twitter.com/AqrOfopJhU

Shyamalan has been a Sixers superfan for years. He even titled an op-ed for NBA.com about his love for basketball and the story behind his Sixers fandom:
Article Continues BelowI can still remember when Dr. J retired – his final game, win or go home against the Bucks in the 1987 playoffs – when he put his hand up and carried the ball with him off the court for the last time. I remember it because I was crying that night, in my pajamas. It was a tough, tough night in the Shyamalan household.
The Dr. J era was an amazing era to be a kid and to grow up in. My memories of watching Dr. J are me at home, sitting with Dad in the den, wishing the team on. I watched a ton of Phillies, Eagles, and Flyers growing up as well. But with basketball, every single day I could just go outside, shoot on our little driveway hoop, and pretend I was Dr. J. Maybe it's the 82 games, maybe it's the speed of the game, maybe it's because I play. Maybe it's something about basketball's accessibility that has kept it so connected to me.
Davis, meanwhile, bruised Philly's defense in spite of the loss. He scored 31 points on 13-of-22 shooting while adding seven rebounds, two assists and two steals for good measure.
The 26-year-old earned a starting spot in the 2020 NBA All-Star Game on Thursday, and he may have made a fan out of Shyamalan, even at the cost of a black eye.
