The Los Angeles Lakers have found themselves in fifth place in the Western Conference after LeBron James and Anthony Davis fell to injury in the middle of the regular season. Luckily for them, Davis is already back in the lineup and once LeBron is healthy, Los Angeles will be good to go in the postseason.
Although they might not have home-court advantage in the playoffs this year, Anthony Davis is confident in his team. According to ESPN, Davis believes the Lakers are the team to beat in the NBA this year.

Davis is speaking the truth here. Once LeBron James comes back to the lineup, the Lakers become the most dangerous fifth seed team in recent memory. They have the talent to be considered a first-place team, but they'll be disguised by the fifth place spot.
Typically for higher seeds, they face off against the lowest place team in the playoff race. However this year, the Utah Jazz, Phoenix Suns, and Los Angeles Clippers are likely hoping the Lakers remain in fifth place. Playing against the Lakers could spell an early exit from the postseason, as the Lakers have a stacked lineup with their two superstars in rotation.
The Lakers were in contention for first place in the Western Conference before LeBron James and Anthony Davis fell to injury. Whichever organization must face the Lakers in the first round, they'll be going up against one of the best teams in the league from the get-go. With the playoffs right around the corner, every team in the West is paying close attention to the dangerous Los Angeles Lakers.
