There was some optimism that Anthony Davis would be able to suit up for the Los Angeles Lakers' matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday. As it turns out, however, AD is still dealing with a sore Achilles, and will now be forced to sit out his second straight game.
This report comes via Dave McMenamin of ESPN:
The Lakers say Anthony Davis will sit a second straight game with right Achilles tendonosis.

The good news for the Lakers here is that Davis' injury appears to be minor. It's being tagged as Achilles tendonosis, which does not sound overly serious. The fact that the Lakers have tagged him as day-to-day also bodes well for Davis' chances of suiting up for the team's next game.
Davis also sat out Monday for L.A. in a 119-112 win over the Thunder. The Lakers managed quite well without their star big man, and they will look to do the same in Wednesday's rematch. It was by no means an easy win for the defending champs, though, with the game needing an extra period to decide a winner. LeBron James led his team to the W with a 28-point, 14-rebound, 12-assist triple-double.
The Lakers are currently riding a four-game winning streak, and they will look to make it five straight against OKC on Wednesday. Their next game will be on Saturday against the Memphis Grizzlies. It remains to be seen if Davis will be ready to play, but given how L.A. has been so cautious with his injuries, it would not be surprising if he remains on the shelf for that one.
