Kendrick Perkins believes Los Angeles Lakers superstar big man Anthony Davis will be out for blood after losing the 2020 Defensive Player of the Year Award to Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Davis was a finalist for the award and Lakers fans firmly believed the Chicago native should have won.

Perkins technically isn't a Los Angeles fan, although he's very biased toward Lakers forward LeBron James since they were teammates on the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Anthony Davis averaged 2.4 blocks and 1.5 steals per game before the 2019-20 season was suspended in March. Remember, the 2020 Awards are based off of numbers put up prior to the COVID-19 hiatus.

The Lakers, behind Davis, had the third-best scoring defense in the NBA this season. They also had the No. 1 record in the Western Conference.

While Davis is likely a little upset he lost to Antetokounmpo, The Brow is more focused on team success. The Lakers are one win away from getting to the second round of the 2020 playoffs. They are widely expected to win Game 5 against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday since Portland will be without point guard Damian Lillard. He's dealing with a right knee injury after getting hurt in Game 4.

So far in the 2020 playoffs, Davis is putting up 26.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 31.8 minutes a night for the Lakers. The future Hall of Famer is also playing efficient, as Davis is shooting 52.1 percent from the field.
