The Los Angeles Lakers suffered their fifth straight loss on Sunday night at the hands of the high-powered Houston Rockets. However, as with every other loss, the Lakers are always looking for the silver lining.

Fortunately, it was easy to find after yet another solid performance from second-year forward Brandon Ingram. According to Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints, Ingram credits his recent surge to a number of factors.

“Just finding my spots, just having a good head, just being aggressive and being able to get to the basket. I think my team has put me in a good position. They give me good driving lanes.”

Brandon Ingram added that he hopes to take on more of a leadership role as the season goes on.

“Just being more of a leader, leading this team on our defensive and offensive end, and of course penetration.”

The former No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft finished with 18 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. However, becoming the leader of a franchise like the Lakers takes a lot more than just putting up solid numbers

He will need to be much more vocal than he has been. Brandon Ingram came in as an even-keeled teenager, so it will be interesting to see if he can change up his temperament during the game. With such a young Lakers roster, it will be on key players like Ingram to help lead the charge on a nightly basis moving forward.
