Los Angeles Lakers small forward Brandon Ingram established himself as one of the league's rising stars last season. Now, it appears he is ready to showcase the skill set he has been working on this offseason.
Three-pointers have not been Ingram's strong suit up to this point. However, according to Bill Oram of The Athletic, he plans on letting fly in the 2018-19 NBA season.

“This year I just feel more comfortable in 3-pointers,” Ingram said. “I feel like I can take more. I feel like it will make me a better offensive player. It all goes back to confidence.”
Needless to say, it is encouraging to see Ingram with such a newfound confidence in his shot. However, it should come as no surprise considering it has been a work in progress ever since he was taken with the second overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.
Ingram struggled to find his rhythm outside during his rookie season. His lack of consistency from deep early on was somewhat shocking since he had been a stellar three-point shooter at Duke. However, he managed to pick up the slack when he shot 39 percent from deep last season.
The timing could not be more perfect for the Lakers. Ingram is bound to get plenty of clear looks from three with the arrival of LeBron James. Los Angeles will need to capitalize on the spacing that James can provide on every possession. Although they have not shown to be a shooting team thus far in the preseason, that could very well change if teams start to sag off on defense.
