It’s not an easy task to make a hall full of celebrities laugh – especially if making people laugh isn’t your forte at all. Racer Danica Patrick found that out in a rather cringe-worthy way when her humor failed to bring the house down at least during one moment at the ESPYs on Wednesday while attempting to make fun of LeBron James and The King’s love-hate relationship with his hairline.

“I mean, who doesn't love LeBron James? He's one of the greatest basketball players of all time and now LeBron is the newest Los Angeles transplant. Los Angeles transplant is also what he Googles when he needs new hair.”

Yikes.

Well, Danica Patrick had a nice recovery, though, at the expense of one of the former teammates of LeBron James in J.R. Smith, so it was all good in the end.

Patrick must have also liked being on the other end of the fence. Some years ago, she and then-boyfriend Ricky Stenhouse Jr. were mercilessly roasted by comedian Jay Mohr during the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Awards Banquet.

But no matter how hard Patrick tries to razz her fellow athletes, she, or anyone for that matter, will never, ever come close to topping the near-criminal performance of Norm McDonald way back in the 1998 ESPYs.
