After landing the Los Angeles Lakers' head coaching job, Darvin Ham is now set to take the next step: build his coaching staff.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the former Milwaukee Bucks assistant already has a plan in place to build his crew. Apparently, he's looking to assemble a staff filled with head coaching experience.

Darvin Ham is a first-time head coach, so it is not surprising that he wants to have people who have tons of experience coaching at the highest level.

As Woj noted, though, Ham impressed the Lakers with his championship pedigree and experience coaching stars. He did win the championship as a player (2004) with the Detroit Pistons and as an assistant coach (2021) with the Milwaukee Bucks, and he has worked alongside plenty of stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo.

It is also worth noting that he is familiar with the Lakers, having served as an assistant for the team from 2011 to 2013.

It remains to be seen who Ham hires to assist him on the bench, but all eyes will certainly be on him. After all, the Lakers job is one with the highest pressure in all of the NBA considering the team's ambitious goals every year. Not to mention that he's going to manage a team composed of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
