LeBron James murals over Los Angeles are getting defaced. Many are left wondering as to why some people in L.A. don't want the greatest basketball player today to play for the Lakers. Jeanie Buss, the team's owner, has an answer.

To celebrate James' new campaign with the Lakers, several artists have put up murals of the King all over Los Angeles. Though you would expect every resident to join in the fun, this has not been the case. Several murals have been defaced and vandalized not long after its completion.

Buss, who was nothing but proud of luring in James, sent out a message for the vandals, per Mark Willard of Fox Sports:

“If you're doing that, then you're not a Laker fan. I didn't realize how many people from Boston are living in LA!”

Are Boston Celtics fans really responsible for this? There's a possibility, but we wouldn't put our bets on it. Buss is just probably looking for a reason to stretch out a jab towards their rivals.

With James' move to the Lakers, the rivalry might see another renaissance in the next few years. And this version of the duel is more interesting as Kyrie Irving — James' former teammate back in Cleveland — is now donning the Celtic green. To recall, his request to be traded away from the Cavaliers stirred up some controversy. Some say he's not comfortable being teammates with James.

Now that the two teams are loaded, who will come out on top this time? The Lakers or the Celtics?
